My CNPA award and www.92067freepress Web site
Larissa reminded me about the fire coverage last year, so I looked on the California Newspaper Publishers Association and voila' turns out I won the award for best news coverage for the years 2007 and 2008 for my coverage of the Witch Creek Fire.
The CNPA award is the top statewide journalism award, so that was great. Of course, since I was laid off by pig Brendan Ruff, the day I returned from the fires and put out the paper.
Of course, I had to pay the entry fee and submit the stories because those pigs wouldn't ever think of it and then I didn't find out because CNPA sent the award notification to the paper's faux La Jolla location and nobody bothered to tell me.
Anyway, this inspired me to start updating the http://www.92067FreePress site with info and controversy calling out the pigs and providing good info to everybody as well as legitimate commentary.
The next step is to publicize the site a lot and tell everybody as well as send me stuff, which Luna or myself will post. We also need money, so people who are interested in providing badly needed sanity and integrity to the local scene, just contribute a little each and this will help our world through truthful and interesting communication.
So... Dan
